The MAC’s staff have been working hard behind the scenes to prepare the venue for our hirers to restart their events in September and to make sure all is in place to launch our autumn cinema season.
We send a big thank you to all of you who responded to our on-line audience survey, we’ve took on board your feedback and comments, and working with the Welsh Government guidance your input has helped us shape our new diverse programming direction, and how the venue will protect and support our audiences, users and staff.
A big part of our re-opening good news is the fantastic combined support we have received from all our funders and grant providers especially Barry Town Council, the Arts Council of Wales, Vale of Glamorgan Council, Film Hub Wales and the wonderful messages of support and donations from you, our amazing audiences and community.
With all our funders support and a new grant from Film Hub Wales we are chuffed to bits to be launching our new ‘Big Screen Bub-L’ cinema programme which will include activities designed to welcome, support and entertain our audiences to re-explore the wonderful world of large screen cinema.
Our Bub-L programme will include new events for Parents and Baby screenings, relaxed screenings, family and special take away activities to enjoy and experience the big screen in safe socially distanced bubbles, with accessibility, affordability and creative excellence as the priority for all.
To celebrate our Bub-L cinema launch, we are hosting a special screening of the fabulous Bohemian Rhapsody (12A) on Wednesday 25th November at 7pm.
We have a limited number of free seats to offer for this screening, so snap up your tickets if you want to be part of our launch event!
Lucky ticket holders will enjoy a yummy goody bag, take part in a short fun survey, and then settle down to watch this amazingly uplifting film that won four Oscar’s, two Golden Globes and two BAFTAs.
