As part of the Escapes programme, supported by the BFI awarding National Lottery funding, the Memo Arts Centre is delighted to present a free preview screening of POWER BALLAD ahead of its official cinema release.

Starring Paul Rudd and Nick Jonas, POWER BALLAD is a feel-good musical comedy packed with catchy songs, comedy, and chaotic ambition.

What happens when a faded boyband star steals a wedding singer’s song… and it becomes the comeback hit of the year?

Rick is a past-his-prime wedding singer still chasing the recognition he feels he deserves. Danny is a former boyband sensation desperate for a comeback. After the two meet during a gig and share a late-night jam session, Danny transforms one of Rick’s songs into the hit that relaunches his career — but Rick soon decides he wants credit for the music that changed everything.

Funny, heartfelt, and full of big musical moments, POWER BALLAD explores friendship, fame, self-respect, and the cost of chasing success.

Escapes is a UK-wide initiative helping audiences discover cinema for free at local venues, with all screenings presented with descriptive subtitles to make the experience more accessible for everyone.
