Cefnogwch ni

Even though we have gradually been reopening up our programme and services, the last eighteen months have seen our income generation devastated, going from 65% to 5% between March 2020 and May 2021.

In normal times, we only receive 35% of our income through grants.

The remaining 65% has to be earned through our Box Office, café bars and hires programme. Every penny goes back into the venue, to maintain and improve our facilities, services and programme.

By working together we can support our local community, creating amazing opportunities and experiences for all to enjoy.

You can help us to continue our work in the community by:

We Miss You / Hiraethu Amdanat

On 16 March 2021 theatres and entertainment venues across Wales marked 12 months since the curtains came down temporarily, due to the Covid pandemic.

The Memo was one of those venues where we had to close the doors to our audiences, and postpone live events and cinema screenings.

Over a year on, our message is that we missed you – the staff, the performers and the audience and we were thrilled to invite you all back as soon as it was safe to do so.

Despite being closed to the general public for months in 2020 and 2021, the Memo was not been completely empty during this challenging period for the arts. Physical audiences may not have been allowed in, but the show went on, supporting the local community during the Covid pandemic, hosting regular essential Welsh Blood Service donor session days and moving cinema, performances and outreach activity online where we could to reach new audiences.

On March 16 2021, the Memo was involved in the #WeMissYou #HiraethuAmdanat campaign organised by Creu Cymru, the development agency for theatres and art centres in Wales. Our building was lit up in one of the colours of the rainbow as a sign of hope, as we continued our preparations to open the doors to the public as soon as we were allowed to do so.
