As an affiliated member of Creu Cymru, and as part of the Wales Dance Consortium, in 2014 the Memo was teamed with Sandra Harnisch-Lacy as our ‘Dance Buddy’.
The Scheme is an innovative programme that places artist-development hand-in-hand with audience-development, the scheme pairs up independent dance artists with a theatre or arts centre in co-mentoring partnership – the ultimate aim being an increase in the quantity and quality of Wales-made work available for audiences.
The Memo has provided R&D space for two new Harnisch-Lacey Dance Theatre pieces (SPIN and TAN) and company workshops. HLDT offer a wide-ranging education and outreach programme and relate directly to current and past performance works and themes of these productions.
During the performance development schedule, the Memo arranged for the company’s professional dancers to provide two inspiring dance workshops for 44 young dance participants from Barry and the Vale.
