Stepping Stones to Brighter Days

With support from the Arts Council of Wales Create fund, the Memo is able to bring you a programme of very special and uplifting activities and events.

From planting seeds in the new Memo garden, to writing a personal lullaby for your baby, to crafting and constructing striking lanterns.
We’ve planned these projects, together with professional freelance artists and creatives, for our community to come together to participate and enjoy.

LULLABIES AT THE MEMO
Tues 26 Apr – Tues 7 June
Creating memories; compose, create and record your lullaby to your baby.
Together as a group – new parents or grandparents with their babies – we will make a joyful noise; singing, talking and laughing together.
During the 6 weekly classes, you will create and professionally record a little song, a lullaby, to sing to your baby. Book now!

MEMO GROWERS
Tues 17 May – Tues 19 Jul, 11am – 1pm
Join us for weekly outdoor workshop sessions at the Memo, growing seeds, growing friendships and growing creatively.
Each week will be different, with activities such as designing planters, exploring the new Memo garden and a chat with a cuppa. Book now!

CREATIVE CRAFTING
Sat 11 Jun – Wed 13 Jul
Three hour crafting sessions, open to all ages.
Enjoy paper making, print making with natural resources and cyanotype printing.
Creative Crafting for Families : Sat 11 Jun, Sat 18 Jun 10am – 1pm
Creative Crafting for Adults : Wed 29 Jun, Wed 6 Jul, Wed 13 Jul 10am  – 1pm
Crafty Social (with wine!) : Sat 11 Jun, Sat 18 Jun 2:30pm – 5:30pm

LANTERN MAKING AT THE MEMO
Mon 30 – Tues 31 May, 10am / 1:30pm
Come and make lantern versions of your homes and our iconic Barry buildings with Citrus Arts.
This is a family activity for all ages. All lanterns will be displayed at our 100 Yards exhibition at the Memo. Book now!

MERMARELLA: CINDERELLA OF THE SEA
Wed 3 Aug, 11am / 2pm
Puppetry, shadow theatre and music, plus a little help from the audience, bring this tale to life with a modern twist.
The 2pm show is followed by a workshop, tickets must be pre-booked. Book now!
