Covid- 19 Restrictions Update: NHS Covid Passes

In line with the recent announcements, the Welsh Government require everyone aged 18+ attending film screenings and live events to present a valid NHS Covid Pass or digital proof of a negative Lateral Flow Test within 24 hours of the start of an event.

Following the recent announcement to move to Alert Level 0, the Memo will remove the 2m social distancing and bookings of no more than 6.

Moving forward the Memo will return to one spare seat between bookings, booking in advance is essential and masks must be worn on arrival and moving aroud the venue.

You can register for a COVID Pass on the NHS website here. Lateral flow tests are free and can be ordered online here.

COVID Passes and lateral flow test results will be checked at point of entry, please make sure you arrive in plenty of time before an event.

Covid-19 status can be demonstrated in the following ways:

  • Via the digital NHS Covid Pass (with QR code)
  • A paper certificate of the vaccination from the Welsh Government (this does not include vaccination cards) – please note, this can take up to 10 days to arrive – please call 0300 303 5667
  • Confirmation of a negative NHS Lateral Flow test by email or text from (within 24 hours and alongside proof of identity)

Please allow plenty of time to access and download your NHS Covid Pass. The pass is valid for 30 days only.

For the further information, please visit Welsh Government’s website

Access will be denied, with no refunds, for failure to produce a Pass or accepted alternative.

Refunds will only be issued if we are forced to cancel an event and are unable to reschedule to an alternative date

Whether the Memo Arts Centre agrees or disagrees with the restrictions imposed, we just want to present live events on the stage and screen films for our audiences. In order to do this, the staff, volunteers and trustees have to follow those rules – those rules allow us to remain open.

Failure to do this means enforcement action for the Memo, including premises improvement/closure notices and/or fines – as a Registered Charity, we can not afford for this to happen.

From all of us at the Memo, a huge thank you to all of you for your support and cooperation, your patience and understanding is much appreciated.
