An interactive mystery adventure for families.
Calling all detectives, discoverers and those who dare to dream!
Welcome to the Department of Strange Events. As a new recruit, you are thrown in the deep end with troubling news that a small town in Wales is suffering from a catastrophic, complete loss of colour! One year ago something stole all the colour and nothing has been the same since. Can you help us solve the Curious Case of Aberlliw?
You will receive video updates and tasks to complete via an app as you journey around the Memo and Gladstone Gardens.
Good luck Agent – and remember the world is watching.
The Curious Case of Aberlliw is an outdoor adventure in three parts for families about the magic inside all of us. Here’s how it works:
Step 1: Book your tickets in advance (spaces are limited and we need to prepare your adventure in advance) and receive information about your route and adventure from the Department.
Step 2: The day of the mission – you’ll arrive at Memo Arts Centre at your booked time slot for your outdoor trail and after an introduction from our on-site agents precisely what has happened in Aberlliw and how to use the app, you’ll be guided along the trail, completing tasks along the way, with a little help from senior agents from the Department.
Step 3: Once you arrive home, you’ll be invited to watch a short online show which will conclude your mission.
The 11:30am and 3:30pm sessions will be in the Welsh language. All sessions are BSL interpreted and all videos on the app are captioned.
Tickets: £10 per group (up to 6ppl per group), includes a resource pack.
Created for ages 4 – 12, but all the family are welcome to join in the adventure. The trail is suitable for prams/buggies/wheelchairs, there are no steps
A Taking Flight/LAS Theatre coproduction in association with Awen Cultural Trust and Theatrau Sir Gar.
The Curious Case of Aberlliw was first experienced at Llyn Llech Owain, Cross Hands and Bryngarw Country Park.
